Liguria -Cinque Terre ( Cinque Terre)

Situated on the Northwest of Italy, with Genova as capital city, bordering with Piemonte,Toscana and Emilia-Romagna, this Region represents a great tourist attraction, thanks to its wealth of natural beauties, as like Riviera dei Fiori and Portofino- to the west , Cinque Terre and Porto Venere - to the East. The Cuisine is inspired, for most of its recipes, from the Mediterranean tradition, unifying sea and land recipes : the taste of these dishes is exalted, as accompanied with many herbs such as rosemary, thyme, which grow wild throughout the territory. Among the highest quality local products are definitely placed the olive oils, but also the “Pesto alla Genovese” made with just basil, pine nuts and crushed raw garlic, universal symbol of the gastronomy made-in-Liguria. Home of the first guild of pasta makers in Italy, Liguria is very well known even for cheeses, especially the “stracchino”, soft cheese perfect for garnishing of “Focaccia di Recco” ( Recco’s bun ), or for the “Brussu” and “San Stè”, local cheeses with a great taste.
