ITALIAN DELI FOODS
Italian Deli Foods is a company owned by Italian entrepreneurs of the food sector, located in Sydney. Born with a great wealth of experience, from an idea of an Italian family who has exported, for more than 70 years, and all over the world, not only the food, but the philosophy that accompanies its use and consumption.
From an intuition as simple as ambitious, helping to raise the level of awareness and knowledge of the Italian products, both of business operators of the large retailers, either of renowned and international chefs. To become a reference for them, but also to have the chance to learn from our clients the new market trends, also contributing actively and playing a new role of great responsibility: not only “selecting”, but also proposing, listening, and finally guiding the customer through his own choices, in an open forum that never can end.
The Italian Deli
When we arrived in Sydney, we were immediately able to appreciate the huge differences between the Australian and Hong Kong markets. In Australia it was not possible to bring "everything", it was necessary to adapt to what the customs allowed to enter the country.
Faced with such a situation, some one might think that the true Italian gastronomic culture could not penetrate deep down.
But isn't emigrating, immigrating, adapting, inventing, building and rebuilding a fundamental part of our heritage?
The Italians who arrived here we are able to build small miracles around the continent. It is truly amazing what they managed to do.
I have never seen a small deli, without there being Italian products inside.
When you move around Australia, you find "pieces of Italy" in the most unthinkable places. You find contamination's of our gastronomic culture everywhere. It is an almost genetic issue, our "culinary DNA" has mixed with the local one, creating Italian-style dishes with "additions" of excellent local products, and in the Deli shops, you can find products that are so niche, that you only saw in a small grocery store in Sicily and you wonder "but how did it get here ??". This, for us, is Australia.
